Western Canada Women's Leadership Council

Purpose of WCWLC:The Western Canada Women’s Leadership Council brings together a dynamic, cross-sector collective of Executive Directors, Government Officials, City Leaders, Academics, Business Owners, Community members with a passion for Gender Equity and individuals with Lived Experience committed to the advancement of women’s equity and wellbeing. We strive to reduce silos and bring together current collectives, coalitions, and associations for better comprehensive solutions for women's issues across our communities.   

Council Contributes and Shapes:

• Collaborative Research Initiatives addressing gender equity and social determinants of health
• Funded Community Projects that centre women’s needs, lived realities, and regional priorities
• Steering Committees for WCWF’s future granting programs, the Western Canada Women’s Symposium on Gender Equity Research, Western Canada Film Festival, and TEDxWomen Western Canada
• Expert Advisory Groups influencing government policy and stakeholder strategy
• Awareness Campaigns & Advocacy Initiatives grounded in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed principles
• Communities of Practice, Tools, and Guides to scale women’s rights education and advocacy
• The Annual Women’s Leadership Exchange & AGM, a regional gathering to elevate research, leadership, and community practice
