The Western Canada Women’s Conference is a three-day gathering dedicated to advancing the rights, equity, and well-being of women and gender-diverse people through research, education, and collective dialogue. In a time when gender rights are being questioned and eroded, this symposium brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, advocates, and community members to share knowledge, highlight evidence-based solutions, and build momentum for gender equity across Canada.

The conference features an opening ceremony and exhibit hall, followed by dynamic breakout sessions, panels, and workshops on urgent issues—gender-based violence, femicide, the wage gap, underrepresentation in leadership, STEM, and trades, women’s economic prosperity, and the social determinants of health. We will reflect on feminist movements past and present, reframe public understanding of feminism, and honour today’s champions for equity. The event closes with a Women’s Awards Ceremony and a scholarship presentation celebrating resilience, leadership, and community impact.
